Recruitment Committee
Getting the word out to local families about the ACE program falls to the Recruitment Committee. The committee does this by advertising ACE in as many venues as possible to try and draw in as many interested parents as possible. Recent recruitment events include handing out candy and flyers during downtown Vacaville’s Halloween Stroll, manning a booth during Vacaville’s Merriment on Main celebration and gift wrapping during the holiday season.
ACE’s recruitment committee also distributes flyers to local preschools and at VUSD schools. There are two parent information meetings that occur in February and March. The teachers and board determine the dates of the parent information meetings; interested parents attend one of the meeting, a multicultural day and a classroom observation.
Current ACE parents are the best recruiters for the ACE program. The committee encourages parents to talk to their friends about ACE and give them points of contact for parent information meetings.
The recruitment committee will be gift wrapping on Sunday, December 13th, from 10am-1pm at Borders.
